ENGAGE
The first step is engagement. Use the Contact Us button below and we’ll reach out and start a dialogue. You can tell us about your pain points, but we really want you thinking about, imagining, what the future could be. Imagine your organization a year from now, two, three, five, ten years from now. How will it work? How might your organizational structure change? If we automate your routine tasks, how will you retrain and reassign your people? If we set up a DataOps team for you, how will you target that power? If we re-architect your system tools, how will you redeploy those assets? Can you imagine that future? If we can see it, we can build it–together.
The key questions as we start this engagement are these: what is the value to you, to your customers, to your vendors, to your organization, your stakeholders? How can we shorten Time to Value (T2V) that measure of how long it takes to go from concept to increased value for your customer. This is why SRE, SevDevOps, DataOps, automation, and restructuring (as needed) is often required. It makes the process of building, securing, deploying, and continuously improving solutions faster, better, and more efficient.
DESIGN
One we understand where you see value, what values you want to enhance, we can design solutions to that effect. Through our design, we can help you engineer Modernization transitions of your technology stack, your organization, your vendor relationships, or whatever is needed to enhance the value propositions we established during the ENGAGEMENT process. This often means obtaining or building new technology stacks in order to increase optimization and resilience. This is usually where education, training, and coaching enter the picture. Because we want these systems we design for you to be sustainable and adaptable to future conditions.
ARCHITECTURE
Whether one follows a standard model like TOGAF or DODAF, the key to architecture is the implementation of Strategic Design that incorporates business objectives, efficiency controls, key indicators, dependencies, and data transport and interoperability. Architecture must be transparent to senior leadership and implementable to engineers.CSS-LUCAS is expert at creating architecture that supports your modernization efforts to include Cloud migration, application modernization, and most importantly data governance and interoperability.
SUSTAINMENT
Long-term success depends on designing systems that can adapt to future (often unknown) conditions. This is why education, training, and coaching are so important. If we design solutions for you but your engineers do not understand the why of what we’re doing, they will not be able to adapt quickly and/or effectively to future changes in your operating environment. Towards that end, we usually find that some sort of Agile methodology works best. Although, there are many projects for which Agile does not work. This is also part of what we discover during the ENGAGEMENT phase.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Our design includes the sustainment of the system through continuous improvement. We began by determining the value propositions. We convert those to Key Performance, Risk, and Cost Indicators, which we monitor and report to you on a dashboard that is tailored to your specific needs. We then deploy analytic tools and models to help you continuously monitor, fix, and improve the system in an automated way. If a server goes down, a switch fails, a system is hacked, an emergency patch must go through, an out of compliance computer tries to connect to your system, our automation engine can handle these tasks for you, generate tickets for your system monitoring, and free your engineers for the higher-order tasks that will keep them engaged.
Automation can do the routine tasks that often cause human error, due to lack of attention. Automation can often solve a problem before a human even detects that there was a problem. Automation can report that action to your incident management system of record (Don’t have one? We can help you select the right one for you!) From start to finish virtually every process can be enhanced if not handled by an intelligent automation system.
